Lewis Hamilton can set another record at the British Grand Prix! However, it will depend on how the race goes for the Briton, making him either a winner or just a driver waiting for a win. The 37-year-old has not won a single race this season, the last one being the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

For several other reasons, the Brackley outfit has still not managed to find the desired pace. However, they have made progress over the last two race weekends.
Now, if this continues and Hamilton somehow manages to win at Silverstone, he will become the only driver to have won the same Grand Prix nine times. Currently tied at eight with the legendary Michael Schumacher, the seven-time world champion has a chance to set a new record if he takes the flag at the British GP for the ninth time.
On the other hand, a failed attempt would make this his eleventh race without a win. It will surpass his two previous streaks of 10 races without a win. These came in the years 2012-2013 and 2013-2014.

As revealed by their chief engineer, “The reality is, we’ve been updating the car pretty much every race, but fairly subtle updates in the recent ones, trying a few experiments, but Silverstone is one of the target events for us where we ‘re going to bring a bigger and more visible package – and hopefully we’ll make a step forward…”
